Jorginho reveals the primary motivation for his switch to Arsenal.
Former Chelsea player, Jorginho has disclosed that Mikel Arteta was the key reason he decided to join Arsenal from Chelsea on transfer deadline day.
The 31-year-old midfielder had a remarkably successful time at Chelsea, where he won the Champions League. He now joins Arsenal with the hopes of adding more silverware to his trophy case as the Gunners presently sit atop the Premier League standings.
Jorginho mentioned Arteta as a major factor in his decision to transfer across London to the Emirates Stadium when speaking in his first interview as an Arsenal player with the club’s official website.
“He was a big influence because I know that he tried a few times to get me before and it didn’t happen due to other reasons, not because of my wishes. So of course, he had a big influence,“ he said.
