The ‘Love Me Now‘ hitmaker thrills fans in Lagos at Global Citizen’s Move Afrika Tour

John Legend made a spectacular return to Nigeria on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, as he headlined the Global Citizen’s Move Afrika Tour in Lagos.
The Grammy-winning singer left the sold-out crowd in awe with an unforgettable performance, alongside a surprise appearance from his wife, Chrissy Teigen.
The event, hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, also featured Simi and DJ Consequence, but it was John Legend’s electrifying set that stole the show. He performed classics like ‘Ordinary People, PDA, Green Light, All of Me,’ and ‘Refuge,‘ bringing pure magic to the stage.
John Legend to Lagos Fans:
“It’s been too long, I’ve missed you all. We’re thankful to Global Citizen and Move Afrika for bringing us back here. We belong together, Lagos. I’m so happy we’re together tonight.”
A highlight of the night was his special on-stage collaboration with Nigerian songstress Simi, adding an extra dose of magic to the event.
According to Hugh Evans, CEO of Global Citizen, the ‘Move Afrika Tour‘ is a pan-African music circuit designed to bridge international and local artists while strengthening Africa’s global music influence.
