Chelsea to sign Joao Felix in £16m loan deal from Atletico Madrid.
Portugal star João Félix will join Chelsea from Atlético Madrid on a loan deal until the end of the season.
Atlético Madrid’s João Félix will become a Chelsea player in the coming hours, provided he passes a medical. Informal negotiations began on Sunday and became more official on Monday.
Félix is travelling to London on Tuesday to finalize the terms of his loan agreement with the Premier League club after Chelsea and the Portugal international struck an agreement. In order to prevent a protracted transfer saga, all parties desired that discussions be finished as quickly as possible. As a result, Félix’s loan move will become official today.

According to Portuguese newspaper A Bola, the former Benfica attacker will join the Blues on loan until the end of the current campaign. As part of the deal, the London club will pay Atlético Madrid a total of €11 million, which includes Félix’s net salaries of €5–6 million annually.
On Twitter, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano shared his confirmation of the financing agreement.

The 23-year-old will be on loan to the Blues for the rest of the season, but there won’t be an option to buy him.
Before the transaction can be finalized, Atlético Madrid has one requirement that shouldn’t present a problem: Félix must extend his contract, which expires in 2026, for an extra year in order to lower the annual amortisation cost.
