Barcelona confirm loan sign of Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid.
Joao Felix, a forward, has been officially signed by Barcelona on a season-long loan from Atletico Madrid.
Joao Felix has always expressed a desire to sign with Barca; in a July interview, the Portuguese international even stated, “Barcelona has always been my first choice and I would love to join them.”
After a protracted wooing, Barcelona has now announced that they have signed Felix from Atletico Madrid.
A statement from Barcelona reads: “FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have reached an agreement for the loan of the player Joao Felix until 30 June 2024. There is no option for a permanent transfer.
“The Club wishes to thank the player publicly for the financial effort made and his desire to wear the Barca shirt.”

Felix was on loan at Chelsea for the second part of the previous season, but the Blues decided not to exercise their option to sign him permanently after he scored just four goals in the Premier League.
Prior to FFP restrictions getting in the way of the agreement, reports in Spain claimed that Barcelona and Felix had already agreed to a deal for Felix’s signing in January 2022 for an initial £60 million plus an additional £55 million in add-ons.
It is now unknown whether Barcelona will be able to register Felix’s contract with the team. Due to Barca’s terrible financial position, players like Marcos Alonso and Inaki Pena are now not registered to play in La Liga.
João Félix is Culer! 💙❤️
