Jay Z’s Roc Nation has teamed up with Long Island University Brooklyn for the announcement of the Roc Nation School of Music, Sports & Entertainment.

Jay Z who founded Roc Nation as a management and recording label has decided to spread his wings into establishing a school.
Students enrolling in the school of arts will have the opportunity to major in undergraduate degrees like music technology, music, entrepreneurship and production, and sports management.
The project is aimed to be “a true investment in our community and young people in Brooklyn, in New York City, and beyond”, as stated by the Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez.
The school is said to start accepting offers in autumn 2021, in addition to offering 25% of the freshman class the chance to receive Roc Nation Hope Scholarships. The students will be selected from first-time freshmen based in New York who are most in need of support, mentorship, and graduation from school debt-free.
Long Island University’s president said: “We look forward to joining with Roc Nation to offer an unprecedented educational resource that opens up the entertainment and sports world to a new and eager generation.”
With Jay Z giving back to his community, it’s looking like the next generation of artist and those interested in entertainment coming out of New York will have the resources needed to strive.
