“You will end up like your father” – Iyanya blasts Wizkid fan who talks down on his music career
Nigerian artist Iyanya recently stirred up reactions online with his response to a Wizkid fan criticizing his music career spanning over 15 years.
Amid the ongoing feud between Wizkid and Davido, a user known as Basito voiced support for Wizkid and explained why some people resent the “Essence” singer. Basito suggested that Wizkid’s only fault was exceeding the initial expectations set for him and subsequently becoming the standard for success in Nigerian music.
Basito’s tweet was further supported by another user, who used Drake as a reference point, drawing parallels between Wizkid’s journey and Drake’s rise to fame. The user pointed out that just as many doubted Drake’s potential, many expected Wizkid to have a fate similar to that of singer Iyanya and music producer Samklef.
In essence, both users highlighted the unexpected trajectory of Wizkid’s career and the subsequent backlash he faced for surpassing initial industry expectations.

In his response, Iyanya targeted the troll’s father, stating, “You will end up like your father.”
