“If I had a girlfriend, I’d try and see if I can and it’d be fun,” Khaid says that he has never celebrated Valentine’s Day
Nigerian artist Khaid recently shared that he has never engaged in the tradition of exchanging Valentine’s Day gifts, citing his single status as the reason behind it.
Speaking on a podcast hosted by Big Brother Naija alumna Phyna, Khaid expressed that Valentine’s Day has never held much significance for him due to not having a partner who celebrates it.
“In all honesty, I’ve never marked Valentine’s Day because I’ve never been with someone who does. I’ve never experienced the surprise or the giving aspect of it,” Khaid revealed.

Reflecting on past relationships, Khaid noted that even when he was involved with someone, neither of them placed emphasis on Valentine’s Day celebrations. However, he expressed openness to embracing the occasion in the future if he were to enter into a relationship where his partner valued it.
“I’m currently not in a relationship, but if I were, I’d be willing to partake in Valentine’s Day festivities if it mattered to my partner. Making them happy would be the priority. Nevertheless, even when I was in relationships before, Valentine’s Day wasn’t really on the radar,” he explained.
Khaid emphasized that his primary focus remains on his music career, especially in light of his single status.
