Nigerian award-winning artist Divine Ikubor, known professionally as Rema, has taken to social media to express his excitement as his song, “Calm Down Remix,” achieves a significant milestone by becoming the first Afrobeats song to reach one billion streams.
This remarkable accomplishment signifies the debut of an African artist-led song achieving a billion streams on Spotify. Rema’s status as one of the top 10 most-streamed Afrobeats artists on the platform further solidifies his position in the music industry.
On September 11th, 2023, The Mavin superstar shared his joy on his verified social media page, celebrating this latest achievement. He extends his gratitude to Selena Gomez and her team, as well as all those who played a part in making the “Calm Down” remix a global success.
