Fireboy is set to drop a new album in 2024.
Nigerian music sensation Fireboy DML graced the 66th Grammy Awards held on February 5, 2024, in Los Angeles. The singer is gearing up for the release of a highly anticipated new album in 2024, promising a cohesive and entertaining musical experience.
During an interview with Rolling Stone on the Grammys red carpet, Fireboy reflected on the growth of the Nigerian music industry and shared insights into his upcoming album.
“It’s surreal. This is what we’ve been working for. It feels great to be acknowledged by institutions like this because it underscores our hard work and how far we’ve come,” Fireboy remarked on the nominations of fellow Nigerian artists Davido, Burna Boy, Asake, Olamide, and Ayra Starr at the 66th Grammy Awards.
When asked about which Afrobeats artists he’s been listening to, Fireboy mentioned enjoying the music of street artists whose unique sound is adding a refreshing touch to the music landscape.
Regarding his forthcoming album, Fireboy revealed that he’s in the final stages of its production in Los Angeles, with plans for its release later in 2024.
The award-winning artist shared that he gained valuable lessons in 2023, emphasizing the importance of focusing on the essentials, which will influence the themes of his new album.
Fireboy’s last album, ‘Playboy,’ was released in 2022, and his upcoming album, highly anticipated by fans, will mark his fourth studio release.
