Shabon, a 22 year old singer/rapper who has been holding it down for a while in Southern part of Nigeria has finally stormed into the industry in a large way. He releases a new single by the title KILLING ME DIE.
Shabon is a talented singer and his music is a standout from the everyday music we hear. He is undeniably one of the hottest prospect in AfroHip-hop/Afropop in Nigeria.INTERVIEW EXCERPTS:

To start with, our readers would love to know who ‘Shabon’ is
Okay. Well, my full names are Onyenso “Shabon” Victor from Abia State, South East Nigeria. I’m an easy going dude, full of life, you can tell from my music (giggles!).
How long have you been into the music industry and how did you become interested?
I have been in the music industry for close to two years now. But, my music started way back in secondary school … when we used to sing about our favorite girl in class, or about any other thing that caught my interest back than (smiles)… way back then we keeping it real.
I became interested in music cos, I know it is the best way to express my self and to show love to those who love music.
Have you released any songs yet?
Yeah, yeah, I have released my first official single “Killing Me Die”. (leans forward)… to be frank the song is actually killing me die. I am also releasing two hit tracks in February and March respectively; watch out for these tracks, club bangers (smiles), my head dey there now!!!
Wow! You seem to be hitting the throttle non-stop this year. So when do we expect your album?
God – willing, that should be later this year.
What inspires you?
Everything around me, lovely creatures.But love and ladies inspires me the most. Beautiful ladies actually (my super ladies, ha ha ha!!!)
Who is your role model and why?
I don’t actually have one person who I aspire to be or even better than. Role models are Akon, Chris Brown, P-Square Wizkid, Flavour, M. I. and that king of the street Erigga NewMoney – Akon is my main man, P-Square next and then Erigga. He has his way of rapping that I have never scan. Ho music goes down to the streets.
What genre (kind) of music are you into?
Man!! I do music, just give me the beats
Your Aspirations?
To be better than even the best guys is the industry and be a household name.
Outside music, what else do you love doing?
Watching movies, dishing out with friends and my group guys
What are your regrets in life
I’d say none, but the few regrets, I’d better keep it personal
What should your fans expect from your in the near future?
They should expect the best from me and nothing but the best .One love my people.
What do you think of the artistes repping the east of the Niger?
They are doing extremely well, hope to be on the map too, very soon, Udochi
