‘I’m now richer than politicians, oil moguls I looked up to’ – Burna Boy
Nigerian music sensation and Grammy-winning artist Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, famously known as Burna Boy, recently shared reflections on his success and wealth, revealing that he now surpasses the financial standing of many he once admired.
Burna Boy conveyed this sentiment in a now-deleted Instagram Story on October 26, 2024.
The Afrofusion star emphasized that perseverance and determination can lead to extraordinary achievements, underscoring the importance of not underestimating anyone’s potential.
He shared, “Imagine growing up and only politicians and oil men were the ones really getting REAL money, followed by the G boys. Music wasn’t even in the conversation when money was the topic.”
Reflecting on his journey, he continued, “Now, an ‘ugly black musician from Port Harcourt’ has more money than 90% of the people he looked up to as moneymakers. This is why I never count any young people out, because they could be Elon Musk tomorrow typing this same message.”
Burna Boy’s message celebrates Nigeria’s evolving landscape of success, where fields like music now rival traditional industries in generating wealth and influence.
