In a lengthy post he made on Twitter on the 10th of December, ID Cabasa explained that waiting on Foreign entities to define us is like when we were taught that Mungo Park found River Niger.

“If we keep relying on foreign media and their industry for affirmation, we will soon lose the only heritage left in the entertainment industry! We allow this people define everything for us just like when u were told mongo park discovered river niger!

First they clustered everything we have as Afrobeats with d deception of adding s…. Afrobeat is d genre Fela anikulapo created… Now even the pop sound we do now is being defined by d foreign yardsticks… The sound is changing to fit into more of their type of music than ours

We rely on Grammys to tell us which of our artiste is doing well! We trust their charts more bcos the Naija fans and charts don’t matter right? The stories we even talk about in our songs are gradual leaving the essence of being naija…”
