Nigerian rapper Ice Prince Zamani has sparked conversations across social media after opening up about his growing fear of marriage, a concern he says is becoming common among single men in today’s society.

The Oleku and Aboki hitmaker shared his thoughts in a candid post, explaining that the increasing number of marital crises around him has made the idea of settling down feel more like a gamble.
According to him, almost everything happening lately serves as a warning to men who haven’t yet tied the knot.
Ice Prince recalled a troubling example close to home: a friend who married just last year but is already overwhelmed by the union. “These days na everyday dem dey scare us about this marriage union of a thing… My guy wey just marry 2024 no dey answer wife call again and wants out,” he wrote.
His message didn’t end there. Directing his words to men approaching 40, Ice Prince urged them to look inward before stepping into marriage.
“Yo single fellas approaching 40, Wagwan?! Pls what’s the update these days?! What we doing?!” he asked, adding a touch of humour to a serious concern.
But he also dropped a bit of wisdom, calling for self-reflection and accountability. “My brother, check yourself properly before you tell person daughter or another man sister say you want to be the head coach in her life oo. Cleanse yourself first, look yourself well and tell yourself the truth first.”
With his honesty, Ice Prince has joined a growing chorus of men questioning what it truly means to build a stable marriage in this era — and whether they’re personally ready for the responsibility that comes with it.
