Nigerian rap icon Ice Prince has unveiled his highly anticipated EP, Starters, a collaboration with longtime producer and collaborator Chopstix.

Released under Ice Prince’s label, Super Cool Cats, alongside Chocolate City Music, this 8-track project features an impressive lineup of Nigerian artists such as Bella Shmurda, Tml Vibez, Psycho YP, and Ajebo Hustlers.
The EP delivers an energetic blend of Afro-fusion, rap, and street anthems, igniting excitement among fans who have been anticipating new music from the veteran rapper since its announcement earlier this year.
Starters opens with vibrant energy, highlighting Ice Prince’s skilled lyricism alongside Chopstix’s signature production that mixes heavy beats with melodic textures.
The track “Loke,” featuring Bella Shmurda and Tml Vibez, stands out by merging Ice Prince’s sharp rap delivery with Bella Shmurda’s gritty street style, popularized by his 2019 hit Vision 2020, and Tml Vibez’s fresh, dynamic vibe, crafting a lively Afro-fusion experience.
Throughout the EP, themes of perseverance, brotherhood, and celebration are woven in, mirroring Ice Prince’s rise from his roots in Jos to his current stature as a respected figure in Nigerian music.
The diverse guest appearances demonstrate his dedication to bridging generations, spotlighting both veterans and newcomers like Psycho YP, who brings a trap-influenced sound, and Ajebo Hustlers, known for their Pidgin rap anthems.

Since his breakthrough with the 2011 smash Oleku and debut album Everybody Loves Ice Prince, Ice Prince has carved out a remarkable career, collaborating with African rap heavyweights including Sarkodie and AKA and gaining international acclaim, such as the 2013 BET Award.
His decision to pursue independence with Super Cool Cats in 2015, after parting ways with Chocolate City, has given him creative freedom to evolve his sound—a trend that continues with Starters. The EP follows his 2023 release To Be Continued, which offered fans a more introspective look at his personal and artistic journey, and coincides with recent hints about a full-length album featuring fellow rap legends MI Abaga and Jesse Jagz.
Now available across all major streaming services, Starters reaffirms Ice Prince’s ability to stay relevant by blending his foundational rap roots with contemporary Afrobeat influences.
The ongoing collaboration with Chopstix, a partnership that began in 2012 with hits like Aboki, continues to produce electrifying music, making this EP a powerful launchpad for Ice Prince’s 2025 endeavors.
