    Adekunle Gold, a prominent Nigerian music sensation whose real name is Adekunle Kosoko, has shared the delightful story of how he crossed paths with his fellow singer and now-wife, Simisola Ogunleye, popularly known as Simi.

    During an interview with Tayo Aina, Adekunle Gold revealed that he initially connected with Simi through a Facebook direct message (DM). However, their first face-to-face meeting took place at a venue called Bogobiri.

    When asked what it’s like to be a father, Adekunle said, “It is a huge responsibility that I love by the way, knowing that I have a huge responsibility to raise a Queen.” 

    “You know my family is my center, like I told you before you asked me where my happiness is… it’s anywhere they are. And that’s one reason I’m hustling hard man. Cos this girl, the life that I lived growing up… she can’t do the same”.

    “That’s why I am dropping school fees music for you people.”

    On what it’s like to be married to a Superstar, Adekunle Gold said, “I think why it is more beautiful because I don’t need to do plenty explaining. She understands and I understand as well if she needs to go somewhere so we shuffle it. Like right now she is in Lagos working”.

    “Thank God we have family members around to help us with Deja sometimes, but yeah it’s beautiful to see that we are both different in different brands, she is thriving and I am thriving that’s beautiful.”

    He furthered, “I slid into her Facebook DM, a long time ago. I listened to her songs, I didn’t even go to be a boyfriend. I found this song called Ogaju, this song Ogaju was beautiful and I listened to that song back to back and I sent her a funny DM with a lot of ‘gbas gbos’ grammar. You know what is crazy, she never saw the message till we met, she never saw the message. I finally met her at BOGOBIRI that’s a clue for people that’s looking for a spouse go to BOGOBIRI.”

    “She came to play and I thought it was beautiful and we became friends, as a sharp guy I told her let’s do this life thing and then we are on the journey.”
