Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy has finally responded to the controversy surrounding socialite Sophia Egbueje’s claims that he failed to buy her a Lamborghini truck despite an alleged promise.
On February 28, 2025, Burna Boy took to his Instagram story, sarcastically singing a song with the lyrics:

His response came after a leaked voice note from Egbueje went viral on February 27, 2025. In the audio, she claimed her friend Ama Reginald and Burna Boy’s associate Manny persuaded her to engage with Burna Boy, convincing her that he was generous with women and had previously bought luxury gifts, including a Rolls-Royce Cullinan for Stefflon Don.
However, according to Sophia, after their alleged encounter, Burna Boy ghosted her and never delivered on his supposed promise.
The leaked voice notes have sparked heated debates online, with many discussing social climbing, transactional relationships, and entitlement in modern dating culture.
Some critics mocked Sophia for expecting a reward, while others questioned Burna Boy’s alleged habit of making grand promises.
