Fido Breaks Silence with Emotional Apology, Vows Growth, Maturity as he Enters New Era in Afrobeats

Fast-rising Afrobeats act Fido has publicly owned up to his recent missteps, offering a heartfelt apology after backlash over some of his comments and actions.
In an honest message addressed to fans and the wider Afrobeats community, the singer admitted that fame arrived quickly and he wasn’t fully prepared for the weight that comes with it. Navigating sudden stardom under public scrutiny, he confessed, wasn’t as easy as it looked.
“There’s no easy way to write this, so I’ll just say it plainly. I messed up,” he began, choosing accountability over excuses.
Reflecting on his journey, Fido acknowledged that he “said things that should never have been said” and allowed “ego, excitement, and inexperience” to influence some of his decisions. He was clear that those moments do not reflect the man he is working to become.
Rather than defend himself, the singer leaned into humility. He apologised directly to fans who stream his music, stand up for him online, and continue to believe in his talent.
He also extended that apology to the broader Afrobeats community including the legends and trailblazers who laid the foundation for emerging stars like himself.
Fido emphasised that he is still learning and evolving but has taken the criticism seriously. According to him, the lessons have been internalised, and his forthcoming music will reveal a “deeper” and “more grateful” version of himself.
Ending his note with renewed determination, he declared, “This is growth. This is maturity. This is me doing better. It’s game time again.”
While conversations continue across social media, the tone has shifted. For now, Fido has chosen reflection over resistance, and whether this moment marks a full-circle comeback will depend not just on words, but on what he does next.
