According to the singer, Omah Lay, Burna Boy is the best songwriter in the music industry and no one comes close to his pen game.
He stated this in an interview session on Pulse One on One with music journalist, Motolani Alake and Kemi Smallz.
Omah Lay had boasted of being the best songwriter via a social media post made on the 26th of March stating:
“Nobody comes close to me with the pen.”
In response to this remark, the Godly crooner cleared the air revealing he was joking, and had to message Burna Boy to ignore his post.
He said “Before I wrote that tweet that day, I almost said Burna, after Burna then me, but… I had to text Burna after that, that come bro, omo no reason that thing o…”

In light of this, Omah Lay revealed he learned songwriting from Burna and he is the person the people of Port Harcourt listen to.
Also, he explained in the pen game, that no one seconds Burna Boy while re-stating how much influence the singer has had in his life.
“Burna is class. Burna is the person I learned from, I can’t even deny it. Na Burna we dey listen for PH na. You dey PH U no dey listen to Burna…”
He continued when asked who else he sees asides from Burna: “I don’t see anybody. Honestly, I don’t see anybody else…”
