I don’t believe in marriage, not getting married anytime soon – Lil Kesh

Nigerian rapper Lil Kesh has opened up candidly about his views on love, relationships, and marriage, revealing that he is not currently dating and has no immediate plans to settle down.
Speaking on the Esther Podcast, the 31-year-old artist stunned fans with his blunt perspective, stating that he’s not emotionally or mentally ready to compromise for anyone in a romantic sense.
“It would be nice to find someone who would make me compromise. But now, I’m not intentional about dating because if I’m dating you, I will have to make time for you.”
Lil Kesh also expressed skepticism toward the institution of marriage, pointing to the rising divorce rates and the prevalence of unhappy unions as major reasons for his reservations.
“Marriage? Maybe, later. But for now, I’m not of that mindset. I just don’t believe in marriage. They don’t work. Have you seen the rate of divorces?”

Despite his stance, he clarified that his decision is not driven by a desire to be a “playboy” or avoid commitment. Instead, it’s about emotional readiness and protecting others’ happiness.
“I want a happy home and I don’t feel like I can do that yet. I’m not going to jeopardise someone’s happiness just because I feel like I have to get married.”
Lil Kesh also noted that his parents have not pressured him to marry, acknowledging his individual differences and unique path.
His comments have sparked mixed reactions online, with some applauding his honesty and self-awareness, while others question his long-term views on relationships.
