Tiwa Savage Jokingly Says She’s Still Searching for ‘Somebody’s Son

Afrobeats queen Tiwa Savage says she’s still on the hunt for “Mr. Right” or, as she playfully calls him, “somebody’s son.”
In a lighthearted interview, the singer teased that her ideal man isn’t just any eligible bachelor; he’d need to come with serious perks.
“I’m still looking for somebody’s son. I don’t have one yet, and I think it’s because I’m being very specific. Maybe I need to narrow my search, because what I’m looking for is someone who owns a private jet, a yacht, and definitely no baby-mama drama. I can’t deal with that. Is that my problem? I just don’t have the time to wait around for a whole year,” she joked.
Savage also passed on a humorous bit of “love advice” from her interviewer, Shannon:
“If you’re still searching for somebody’s son, Shannon says listen to Somebody’s Son thirty times a day for thirty days. By day 31, you’ll find him—but I can’t promise you’ll like who you get.”

Her candid comments follow an August revelation where she admitted she’s never truly experienced deep romantic love outside her bond with her son, Jamil.
“Looking back at my past relationships, it wasn’t love—it was just infatuation,” she confessed, adding that the soulmate she dreams of may never appear in this lifetime.
Savage also noted that her distance from Nigerian men isn’t accidental.
“Nigerian men have swag, but they’re not really romantic when it comes down to it. They know how to splash cash and dress sharp, but that’s not what I’m looking for,” she said.
“I don’t think I’ve experienced true love apart from my son.”
