Nigerian street hip-hop artist Bella Shmurda has revealed his intention to delve deeper into his prophetic side in 2024.
At the Tension Rave 2024 event, Bella Shmurda was featured in a documentary by WeTalkSound, providing viewers with a glimpse into his personal life. The documentary delves into his journey to the top of the music industry, his experiences as a father, and his fondness for the city of Ibadan.
In the interview, Bella Shmurda discussed his strong connection to Ibadan, explaining that the city embraced him early in his career and even hosted his first headline show, which fostered his love for the area.
“I want to bring entertainment to Ibadan. I want people to know Ibadan,” Bella Shmurda expressed ahead of his performance at Polo Club.
Regarding his music-making process and inspiration, Bella Shmurda revealed a spiritual approach. He mentioned praying to God for inspiration before recording, which led him to create prophetic music.
“I’m not just an artist. I do prophetic music, and this will be more evident in 2024,” he declared about his music and what fans can anticipate from him.
Becoming a father in 2023 further motivated Bella Shmurda to strive for greatness and leave a lasting legacy for his son. Reflecting on his journey, he acknowledged the hardships he faced, including resorting to stealing to survive, before ultimately achieving success in the music industry.
The documentary, titled “Bella Shmurda – Tension In Ibadan,” was directed, shot, and edited by Feranmi Abiola for WeTalkSound Visuals. The script was crafted by Bamise Oyetayo and Isaac Nwanze, with Uchefunah Tochukwu and Dolapo Amusat serving as producers and executive producers, respectively.
