It’s not a drill that Tiwa Savage, the Queen of Afrobeats is selling out concert venues for her tour in the states.
Tiwa Savage has been in the mainstream limelight for more than a decade now and consistently leads as Queen on the chariot of the female afrobeat musicians across Africa.
Singer, composer, and actress of British-Nigerian descent, born in Isale Eko and moved to London for secondary school when she was 11 years old.
She launched her music career five years later, providing backing vocals for musicians like George Michael and Mary J. Blige.
She debuted officially into the Nigerian music scene in 2012, when she signed to Mavins, Don Jazzy owned prestigious label.
However, On July 3rd, 2013, her debut studio album Once Upon a Time was published, it was accompanied by seven singles; “Kele Kele Love,” “Love Me,” and “Kele Kele Love” (3x).
Tiwa Savage became a household name in Nigeria and Africa in 2013, as she fiercely take over the music scene as the top female act killing features and back to back hit singles, alongside Yemi Alade and others.
In the subsequent year, 2014, Tiwa Savage was the first female Nigerian musician to receive a BET nomination, she also won the best female category in the Channel O music awards ceremony in the same year (2014).
Tiwa Savage won Best African Act at the 2018 MTV Europe Music Awards in November, becoming the first woman to do so.
She has a total of 5 projects since she debuted into the music scene, which comprises albums and EPs, including her last project titled Water & Garri extended play in 2021, which features vocals from Amaarae, Brandy, Nas, Rich King and Tay Iwar.
In 2022, Tiwa Savage embarked on a tour dubbed ‘Water & Garri’ tour in North America, selling out places in Atlanta, Los Angeles, Seattle, and other cities selling out fast like gala.
Her tour started in May, and it’s all vibe upon vibe, one thing is certain when it comes to stage performances, Tiwa Savage is one of the best performers in the Nigerian music industry.
However, never a dulling moment with Tiwa Savage on her tour in North America, the concerts also spawned some influential personalities gracing her show which include, Rita Ora, Wizkid, Yvonne Jegede and a host of others.
