Joeboy‘s quiet dominance over Nigeria’s music business has to be studied, he’s one artiste that has been overly calm and organized irrespective of his wins or achievement in the music industry, supplying as many hit songs since his debut.

Joeboy came to the limelight after the release of a viral hit single titled ‘Baby’ one of the biggest breakout songs of 2019, becoming top songs across various streaming platforms based on most played.
Five months later he strikes again with a Killertunes-produced track titled ‘Begining’ an obvious hit song that gained massive airplay, a typical back-to-back, cementing his name on the long lists of grounded acts.

fast forward to three months later, Joeboy released a 5 track EP titled ‘Love & Light’ supported by the previously released singles “Baby” and “Beginning” as the lead singles, the EP also has Mayorkun assisted track titled ‘Don’t Call Me
The EP marked the beginning of a new era for him, winning Best Artiste in African Pop at the 2019 All Africa Music Awards, and Best Pop at the 2020 Soundcity MVP Awards Festival with other multiple nominations in headies awards and City People Entertainment Awards.
In 2020, Joeboy started working on a debut album, releasing two singles titled ‘Call’ and ‘Lonely’ a melodious tune, he was practically involved in more collaborations in the span of the album process.

Nigerian disk jockey DJ Neptune teamed up with him and Mr Eazi for a song titled ‘Nobody’ a catchy tune that went on to be one of the biggest songs of 2020, winning Song of the Year and Best Pop Single at the 14th Headies Award 2021.
However, on 4 February 2021, Joeboy released his debut album titled ‘Somewhere Between Beauty & Magic’ (SBBM), a 14-track project without features…quite commendable.

And yet, still seating comfortably on charts after one month of release, the most for the span of a career year.
However, at some point, Joeboy’s “Sip (Alcohol)” is the most streamed song in Nigeria.
The song has been at the top of the TurnTable Top 50 for the fifth week in a row, making it one of the few Nigerian songs to have dominated the Nigerian music charts for weeks.
For six weeks, “Sip (Alcohol)” held the top spot on the Nigerian streaming chart with 3.33 million equivalent streams.
The song had a radio audience of 48.6 million and a television audience of 3.97 million, making it the first song to ever top the TV chart.
Tempoe created “Sip (Alcohol),” which was released in October 2021. The song has over 4 million Spotify streams and is now ranked #3 on Shazam’s Global Top 200.
The visual is 17 million views on youtube in exactly one month of release, that’s very massive and commendable.
