Hilda Baci opens up on number of years it took before attempting Guinness World Record.
The renowned Nigerian chef Hilda Effiong Bassey popularly known as Hilda Baci has revealed how long it took to decide on the effort to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking period.
During an interview with TVC on Thursday, she confessed that she considered breaking the record five years ago, but the conditions were not favourable at the time.
Hilda Baci continued to push it until all lights were green in 2023, when she prevailed with over 100 hours, setting a new record.
Despite getting no sleep during her culinary binge in Lagos, Bassey maintained her positive attitude and could be seen dancing and waving to the throngs of admirers who came out to cheer her on.
In her words;
“I thought about it five years ago, but then it wasn’t the right time.
“I still had to go on a journey of self-discovery as well before I got to this point where I could confidently say, ‘oh I am ready to do this. I can afford to pay for it and I have the right team that will come together to make it happen’.”
