In Man City’s loss to Tottenham, shot-shy Haaland registers the team’s first unwelcome shot since 2020.
For Manchester City, Erling Haaland has been a revelation, yet in his most recent game, he failed to attempt a shot for the first time since September 2020.
Despite scoring 31 goals for the defending Premier League winners this season—including four hat tricks—the prolific Norwegian striker was held in check for the whole 90 minutes against Tottenham.
The last time Haaland misfired so miserably was during his tenure at Borussia Dortmund against Duisburg. This was the first time Haaland has done so as a player for City.

Haaland’s struggles at Spurs should come as no surprise as City are still waiting on their first goal as a collective at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with Pep Guardiola’s side having now had 84 attempts without hitting the net across five matches in north London.
