Erling Haaland makes history! Man City striker lets his hair down to break Mohamed Salah’s single-season Premier League goal record.
Erling Haaland of Manchester City scored his 33rd goal of the season in the Premier League to cement his place
Haaland put the frosting on the cake for Manchester City against Arsenal on Wednesday. The striker scored his team’s last goal in a 4-1 win against Arsenal, his 33rd goal in his debut Premier League season.
With the goal, Haaland has surpassed the previous mark held by Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah and currently leads the rankings.
The Manchester City striker has scored 49 goals for City in only 42 appearances in all competitions, and he will undoubtedly increase that total before the season is through. The team Pep Guardiola still has seven Premier League games to play, will play Manchester United in the FA Cup final, and will play Real Madrid in the Champions League semifinals.
In 43 games in all competitions this season, Haaland has directly contributed to 57 goals (49 goals, 8 assists), which is 15 more than any other player in Europe’s top five leagues and one goal or assist every 58 minutes on average.
Inevitable. @ErlingHaaland now holds the record for the most goals of any player in a 38-match #PL season! pic.twitter.com/FmF83lUa6V
