Guinness World Records confirms Hilda Baci as new record holder.
June 13th marked the official confirmation by Guinness World Records (GWR) of Nigerian chef Hilda Bassey Effiong aka Hilda Baci as the new holder of the record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
On June 13, 2023, the statement was released via its official Twitter account following a review of the evidence.
Hilda cooked almost 110 meals in 100 hours, breaking the previous Guinness World Record of 87 hours, 45 minutes, and 00 seconds.
Guinness World Records wrote; “Following a thorough review of all the evidence, Guinness World Records can now confirm that Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, has officially broken the record for the longest cooking marathon (individual), with a time of 93 hours 11 minutes.”

The previous record holder, Indian chef Lata Tondon, broke it in 2019 and was exceeded by Hilda in 2023 after cooking for four days.
She cooked past the 87 hours and set a new record by going for up to 100 hours by 8 p.m. on Monday, May 15, 2023.
The contest was started by the Lagos-based chef at 4 p.m. on May 11.
