Release The Song I Like Or I Will Leak It – Singer, Guchi Drags Record Label.
Nigerian Afropop sensation Ugochi Lydia Onuoha, popularly known as Guchi, has warned that she will take matters into her own hands by releasing any of her beloved songs to the public if her record label refuses to release them.
She vented her annoyance with the difficulties in getting her song released on Twitter.
Guchi threatened to release her own music after criticizing her record company on Twitter for limiting her creative freedom.
The Kaduna-born singer made her stage debut in 2019 with “No Be Jazz” before signing a record deal with PG Entertainment later that year. Since then, she has been releasing music under that label.
However, in a series of Twitter posts on Sunday (May 28), Guchi, whose real name is Ugochi Lydia Onuoha, lashed out at her label for tampering with her creative freedom and passion for music.
She underscored that record labels shouldn’t let the business aspect of music be a hindrance to artists’ passion for music, saying ‘Music shouldn’t be this complicated’!
She continued by saying that she would leak the music herself if her label did not release it.
‘…Labels should remember, passion led the artist here and shouldn’t let the business side of things override that passion. If the song I like isn’t released, then I will go ahead a leak it’, Guchi wrote.

Music shouldn’t be this complicated!
You record a song from your heart, and you are told a thousand reasons why you shouldn’t put out the song!! Why are there too many processes in something that’s a free gift from God??
