Pep Guardiola poised to lose £8.5 million (N13.2 billion) property after separating from wife of 30 years
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is reportedly preparing to leave his £8.5 million (approx. N13.2 billion) family mansion in Barcelona following the end of his 30-year marriage to Cristina Serra.
The luxury property, located in one of Barcelona’s most exclusive neighborhoods, was acquired by Guardiola in February 2021. Previously owned by former Barcelona player Rafa Márquez, the mansion was purchased from a Russian businessman through a company co-managed by Guardiola and Serra.
The four-story home sits on over 22,000 square feet of land, featuring an 8,000-square-foot house, a large swimming pool, and proximity to the scenic Carretera de les Aigües trail. Cristina had moved into the property two years before its acquisition, leaving Manchester to resettle in Barcelona.
The couple, who share three children—Maria (24), Marius (22), and Valentina (17)—reportedly spent the last holiday season together at the mansion despite their separation. According to *El Confidencial*, the house was seen as an ideal setting for a “discreet separation.”
The separation is said to have been mutually agreed upon during their time together in Spain last December, according to *Sport*. Guardiola, who had used the Barcelona mansion as a base for visits to his hometown, is now expected to reside in a £2.7 million luxury apartment in Salford.
Speculation about Guardiola’s potential return to Barcelona had arisen when he purchased the property in 2021, especially after Joan Laporta was re-elected as the club’s president. However, recent developments indicate his focus remains on his professional commitments in Manchester.
