Mason Greenwood left out of Man Utd tour of United States
Mason Greenwood, Manchester United forward, will not be part of the club’s pre-season tour of the United States.
The 21-year-old has been absent from the team since January 2022 after facing serious charges, including attempted rape, assault, and coercive control, which were later discontinued by the Crown Prosecution Service in February.
Despite being officially listed in United’s squad for the upcoming season, According to The Athletic, the club is considering a loan move for Greenwood and discussions have been held with Atalanta, while United is also pursuing a signing of Danish forward Rasmus Hojlund.
Greenwood has been training with a private coach to regain fitness and focus on his game. He last played for United in an FA Cup tie against West Ham on January 22, 2022.
As the team heads to the United States for their pre-season tour, Greenwood will not be part of the squad for any of the games, including matches against Arsenal in New Jersey, Wrexham in San Diego, Real Madrid in Houston and Borussia Dortmund in Las Vegas. But first they will play against Lyon in Edinburgh on Wednesday. Greenwood will not be with the squad for any of the games.
