Wizkid’s Essence loses to Arooj’s Mohabbat for Best Global Music Performance at the 64th Grammys ceremony.
Pakistani-born singer, Arooj Aftab has won the Best Global Performance with ‘Mohabbat’ at the 64th Grammys, defeating Wizkid and others.
Femi Kuti (“Pà Pá Pà”), Wizkid feat Tems (“Essence”), Angélique Kidjo feat Burna Boy (“Do Yourself”), and Yo-Yo Ma and Angélique Kidjo (“Blewu”) were among the other nominees in the category.
“I think I’m gonna faint. Wow thank you so much. I feel like this category in and of itself has been so insane,” Aftab said.
“Burna Boy, Wizkid, Femi Kuti, Angélique Kidjo—should this be called Best World Music Performance? I feel like it should be called ‘yacht party category.’
