The former Best Pop Dance Recording category has been renamed to Best Dance Pop Recording.
The Best Dance/Electronic Music Album category is now called Best Dance/Electronic Album, with the requirement that albums must contain at least 50% dance/electronic tracks to qualify.
Conjunto music will now be included in the Best Regional Roots Music Album category instead of the Best Música Mexicana Album (Including Tejano) category.
A new guideline has been established for the Best Score Soundtrack for Video Games and Other Interactive Media category, allowing new downloadable content (DLC) and seasonal expansions to be eligible.
To qualify, over 50% of the soundtrack music must come from newly released episodes or programs within the Grammy eligibility timeframe.
