Grammy nominations for 66th edition will be announced on ….
The preparations for the 66th Grammy Awards have officially kicked off, with the Grammys Academy announcing that the nominations for the 2024 awards will be unveiled on November 10th.
This marks the start of the nomination process as members gear up to cast their votes.
The 2024 Grammy Awards are poised to be historic, following the Academy’s announcement of three new categories: Best African Music Performance, Best Alternative Jazz Album, and Best Pop Dance Recording.
Notably, the 66th Grammys will witness the presentation of the award for Best African Music Performance on stage for the very first time.
As per a report from Chart Data, a total of 122 songs were submitted for the Best African Music Performance category.
A Billboard article published after the introduction of this new African category has mentioned front runners for potential nominations, including Adekunle Gold’s ‘Party No Dey Stop‘, Davido’s ‘Unavailable‘, and Asake’s ‘2:30′. These artists are expected to be strong contenders in the newly established African category.

Nigerians’ interest in the Grammy Awards has grown over the years as a result of Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Tems‘ successes.
Fans would be expecting that more Nigerian musicians will join King Sunny Ade, Femi Kuti, Seun Kuti, Made Kuti, Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Tems on the Grammy nominee list in light of the new African category.
The Academy released a video on the significance of members voting and how their choice might influence the future of the musical environment in advance of the nomination list’s announcement on November 10th.
The Grammy Awards in 2024 are scheduled for Sunday, February 4th.
