Ghanaian highlife and afrobeats singer, songwriter and producer Dennis Nana Dwamena, better known as KiDi, has reached a new milestone in his music career for being selected one of the top five nominated African musicians for this year’s National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NACCP).
The Nominations was announced on the NAACP Instagram page on Tuesday 18th of January 2022.
KiDi has been nominated in the Outstanding International Song category for his smash song “Touch It” off his Golden Boy album.
He is in the same category as Wizkid with ‘Essence’, Fireboy with ‘Peru’, Tiwa Savage with ‘Somebody’s Son’ and Omah Lay with ‘Understand’.
The Ghanian star took to his social media page to share his excitement about him nominated.

Recall, on May 6, 2021, KiDi released the global chart-topping song ‘Touch It’ before the release of his anticipated second album, ‘The Golden Boy.’
Since its debut, ‘Touch It’ has spread beyond African borders. Millions of social media users worldwide, particularly on TikTok, have created videos dancing to the song and choreographies for it, among other things.
The song also began charting in 51 countries on Spotify and 49 countries on Apple Music within a few weeks after its release, including India, Costa Rica, Columbia, and the Netherlands.
The music video for the mega-hit has over 17 million views on YouTube.
