Ghanaian music slowly losing its touch due to too much pressure – Medikal
Ghanaian hip-hop artist Medikal has weighed in on the country’s never-ending discussion on Ghanaian music.
Some music fans have been calling for huge entertainment venues to be packed, as well as for their music to top worldwide music charts and win prestigious international honours like the Grammy.
The strain is a result of Nigerian music’s recent popularity and dominance, with its musicians selling out London’s O2 Arena, taking home Grammy awards, and dominating charts like Billboard.
Medikal stated in a tweet that aims or goal-setting appear to have taken precedence over amusement.
He stressed that there is no rivalry in the music industry and urged participants in the industry and consumers to be less demanding of and less demanding of the musicians.
The rapper thinks that the primary goal of music should be entertainment, but that doesn’t seem to be the case right now as the emphasis has changed to a specific objective.
“Ghana music is slowly losing its touch and sauce due to loads of pressure exerted by certain group of people. The focus of fun and entertainment is gradually being swayed from entertainment to a target/goal.N/B Music Nobi competition,” Medikal wrote.

The discussion surrounding the music of the two West African nations appears to have intensified after newcomer Asake achieved a remarkable milestone in London. He filled the O2 Arena, which has a capacity of 20,000, and made a grand entrance by arriving at the venue in a helicopter.
