In preparation for the announcement of the team, Gareth Southgate revamps the England staff.
In order to start a new cycle as England manager, Gareth Southgate has made some adjustments to his backroom team.
The manager will announce his first international team since the 2022 World Cup on Thursday in order to start getting ready for the European Championships.
Although The Telegraph notes that Southgate has also supervised some new recruits to his backroom staff in an effort to mix things up, there are anticipated to be some changes to his team.
Both performance psychologist Ian Mitchell and coach Chris Powell, who has been working with Southgate since 2019 in addition to his duties as director of Tottenham’s academy, have departed the national team.

Mitchell, who was hailed for his work with the Welsh national team before joining England in February 2018, is anticipated to leave the Three Lions’ psychology department along with a number of other individuals.
Former Dutch striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is one player who may join Southgate’s lineup. The 50-year-old played for teams like Chelsea and Leeds during his playing career and spent time at Middlesbrough with Southgate.
While he currently works as a television analyst, Hasselbaink switched to management after retirement and has managed Burton Albion, Queens Park Rangers, and Northampton Town.
The adjustments mark the beginning of a new cycle for Southgate, who hopes to break England’s protracted trophy drought at the 2024 European Championships.
