Funke Akindele and ex-husband JJC Skillz spread rumors of reconciliation
There have been recent rumors circulating that popular Nollywood actress Funke Akindele and her estranged husband, JJC Skillz, have made peace months after their separation. The couple’s split was announced by JJC on his Instagram page in June 2022, and since then, they had unfollowed each other on the platform.
JJC had shared in his Instagram post that he and Funke had been facing marital issues for two years, which eventually led to their separation. He mentioned that he had moved out of their matrimonial home three months prior to the announcement, at the insistence of Funke.
Funke Akindele, on her part, explained that the couple’s dreams and visions for their marriage were no longer aligned, contributing to their decision to separate.
“Well, the truth is our dreams and vision of what our marriage should be just no longer aligned. And efforts to make it work all fell on deaf ears, so why hang around?” she said.
However, a recent check on their Instagram profiles shows that they have now re-followed each other on the platform, indicating a possible reconciliation or at least a willingness to rebuild their relationship.
