From Madison Square Garden (MSG) to Oceania, Burna Boy has been rewriting the rules of what an African artist can achieve on the global stage.

Over the last decade, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu has steadily broken barriers, turning live shows into historic milestones and proving that Afrobeats has a worldwide audience.

Here’s a look at the major touring records. Burna Boy currently holds the following:
    • First African artist to sell out Madison Square Garden (2022)

In April 2022, Burna Boy became the first African artist to headline and sell out New York City’s iconic Madison Square Garden. His One Night In Space concert drew over 20,000 fans, placing him alongside legends like Michael Jackson, Adele, Jay-Z, and Rihanna.

    • First African artist to sell out a US stadium (2023)

On July 8, 2023, he broke another record by selling out Citi Field in New York City, performing to 41,800 fans—the first African artist to do so at a U.S. stadium.

    • First African artist to sell out London Stadium (2023)

That same year, Burna Boy became the first African artist to fill London Stadium, entertaining 60,000 fans in a historic UK show.

    • First African artist to sell out La Défense Arena in Paris for two consecutive days (2023)

Continuing his European dominance, he sold out Paris’ 40,000-capacity La Défense Arena for two nights with his Love Damini concert, a step up from his previous sellout at the Accor Arena.

    • First African artist to sell out GelreDome Stadium in the Netherlands (2023)

Still in 2023, he performed to a full house at GelreDome Arnhem Stadium, cementing his reach across Europe.

    • Highest-grossing tour by an African artist: I Told Them… Tour (2024)

The I Told Them… Tour brought in $30.5 million from 302,801 tickets across 22 shows, setting the record for the highest-grossing tour ever by an African artist.

    • Highest-grossing single concert by an African artist (2024)

During the same tour, his June 29, 2024 London Stadium show grossed around $6.15 million from nearly 59,000 attendees.

    • First African artist to sell out Scotiabank Arena in Toronto (2024)

On February 25, 2024, Burna Boy made history in Canada, selling out the 19,000-capacity Scotiabank Arena. Combined with his Montreal Bell Centre shows, he reportedly grossed $5.7 million from six Canadian concerts.

    • Highest-grossing tour in Oceania: No Sign of Weakness Tour (2025)

Extending his record-breaking streak to Oceania, Burna Boy’s tour grossed $3.1 million from 31,000 tickets across four shows. His October 18, 2025 performance at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena marked the first time an African artist earned over $1 million from a single concert in the region.

    • First African artist to gross over $1 million from a single concert on three continents

Burna Boy’s milestones across North America, Europe, and Oceania make him the first African artist to achieve $1 million-plus grossing concerts on three different continents—a testament to his global appeal.

Spanning five continents and three consecutive years of record-breaking performances, Burna Boy’s live shows continue to push boundaries, and it seems likely that this list of achievements will keep growing.
