Davido speaks up for Verydarkman, calls for his release
Nigerian music superstar Davido has publicly called for the release of activist Verydarkman (VDM), who was reportedly arrested after visiting a GTBank branch, allegedly by the EFCC (Economic and Financial Crimes Commission).
However, as of now, the EFCC has not officially acknowledged having him in their custody, and the reason for his arrest remains unclear.
Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) page, Davido expressed solidarity with Verydarkman, highlighting how the massive public support for the activist inspired him:
“Outside all the noise it’s good to see that the good one does actually impacts lives and Pple actually appreciate! The support I’m seeing for VDM everywhere is encouraging.. makes one want to do more for the masses ❤️ FREE MY GUY”
Davido’s comment adds a significant celebrity voice to the growing outcry, showing how influential figures in Nigeria are increasingly engaging with social and political issues.
