Nigerian singer FOLA has publicly addressed the controversies surrounding his recently concluded 2025 Lagos concert, following reports of attendees fainting due to overcrowding.

The show, which drew a large crowd, was reportedly halted midway after several fans collapsed amid space constraints, prompting emergency response teams to intervene and restore order.
In an official statement, FOLA expressed sincere regret over the incident, emphasizing that no performance is worth endangering lives.
“My people, I’m really sorry about how last night went. People were hurt and that should never happen,” he said. “I had to stop the show because safety comes before anything else.”
The singer also reassured fans that his team is taking steps to address the situation. “I hear you on all fronts, and we’re working to make things right,” the statement added, hinting at possible follow-up actions for those affected.
The disruption has reignited conversations about concert safety and crowd management on social media, with fans calling for improved planning at large-scale events.
While some attendees expressed disappointment over the abrupt end of the show, many praised FOLA for prioritizing safety and taking responsibility for the situation.’

Speaking in a recent interview, Fola traced his love for music back to his high school days. At the time, the dream wasn’t professional or polished, but it was alive.
He recalled being part of a band, learning rhythm, teamwork, and expression long before he ever stepped into a real studio.
“I started making music in high school, obviously not professionally, but I had a band I was playing with,” he said.
After graduation, reality hit hard. Resources were scarce, opportunities even scarcer. Fola revealed that he didn’t own a mobile phone and had to depend on a friend’s device just to stay connected and move forward.
“It was difficult for me because I didn’t even have a phone. I was using my guy’s phone to do stuff,” he recalled.
