He explained that they made the decision because they consider themselves “advanced.”
Speaking in an interview with Apple Music’s Ebro, Fireboy said, “Myself and Rema are the two leading [Afrobeats] artists of our generation. We came together and realised that instead of giving the fans what they want which is beef, let’s collaborate. Because we are too advanced for this stuff.
“We didn’t even give them a club banger, we made proper music. We have five more collaborations.”

After rising to stardom in the same year, Fireboy and Rema found themselves the subjects of constant comparisons on social media.
However, the comparisons dwindled after Fireboy featured Rema on a track called “Compromise,” featured on his third studio album, ‘Playboy.’
The collaborative effort served as a clear indicator that they were on good terms.
In addition, Fireboy revealed the release date of his upcoming song via social media. Set to drop on May 3, 2024, Fireboy teased fans with the announcement, stating, “Damola’s next single drops on the 3rd of May.”
Earlier in March 2024, Fireboy hinted at the theme of his forthcoming album, suggesting that heartbreak would be central to its narrative.
He expressed his intention to seek inspiration for the album during a vacation, saying, “After this one, I’ll go on a vacation and try to find whoever’s gonna inspire the heartbreak album that will follow.”
