The nomination list for the 2020 Headies Awards was recently unveiled on the 4th of December.
Fireboy DML, Wurld, Burna Boy swept Nominations with artists like Simi, Wizkid, Davido, and Tiwa Savage following suit.
Fireboy bagged eight nominations in categories like Best Pop album for “Apollo”, Best Recording of the year for “Dreamer”, “Headies Revelation, Album of the year for “Apollo”, Headies Viewers Choice, Songwriter of the year for “Dreamer”, Best R&B single for “Tattoo” and Best R&B Album for “LTG”
Wurld bagged Seven nominations. Three of the nominations in categories like Best Recording of the year, Best Vocal Performance Male, Songwriter of the year was with his 2020 song, “Ghost Town”.
While he alongside Sarz bagged nominations in Best R&B single with “Mad” and Best R&B album with I Love Girls with Trobul (ILGWT). His sixth nominations came as a result of his feature on Davido’s “Sweet In The Middle” which was nominated in the “Best Collaboration” category.
Then his seventh nomination was a result of Sarz being nominated for “Producer of the year” for their joint collaboration, “Mad”.
Then Burna Boy was nominated for Best Pop Album and Album of the Year thanks to “African Giant”. He was also nominated for Best Recording of the year for “Wonderful”, then Headies Viewers Choice, Songwriter of the Year with “Way Too Big”, Artists of the year.
He also bagged his seventh nomination thanks to Kel P who was nominated for “Producer of the Year” as a result of Burna’s “Pull Up” song.
