Fireboy DML opens up on how he feels about being compared with other artists.
Nigerian singer, Fireboy DML has opened up on how he feels whenever his fans and that of Rema’s clash on social media.
The singer sat down with Zeze Millz of Apple Music for an interview where he opened up on interesting facts about his life.
During their conversation, he opened up on how deals with criticisms and comparisons from netizens. According to the “Playboy” hitmaker, he used to be sensitive to these issues but later developed a thick skin toward them.
He disclosed that he was aware of the current fan wars happening between fans of his and Rema, stating that he sees it as a form of entertainment.
“Me I have thick skin o, like (Laughs) well I didn’t always have thick skin at the beginning, now I am just… All these conversations happen on Twitter, Fanboys you know, the Rema fans, the fireboy fans going at it. It’s always fun, I am just sitting back to relax and sometimes I just go on Twitter and am I like ‘What are they even fighting about today?’ and then you see stuff like that. “

He also stated that he was aware that most people based his international fame and the success of “Peru” on his collaboration with Ed Sheeran but stated that while the collaboration aided its success, the song was already a hit song way before that.
“Oh thanks to Ed, blah blah, I know that Peru was already a hit song, It was already on its way even before the Ed feature. And yes there is no shame in saying that the Ed feature blew it like over the top and that’s what collaboration are for. It was a successful collaboration nd if it wasn’t I will feel bad myself. You know, its was a successful collaboration, that’s what happens when two genuine artists come together who care about the song and just make a song.”
When asked if his dad was proud of him, Fireboy stated that his family always keep with every trending news about his career.
