Nigerian singer Fido has issued an official statement addressing the sudden removal of his hit song ‘Joy Is Coming’ from Spotify.

As of February 20, 2025, the track, which was released on December 14, 2024, and had amassed over 21 million streams, is no longer available on the platform.

The song also held the No. 1 spot on the TurnTable Top 100 for five consecutive weeks, making its removal even more surprising.

Taking to social media, Fido reassured his fans, Oosha_FC, that efforts were being made to restore the song:

“Dear Oosha_FC, We want to take a moment to thank you for your love and support for ‘Joy Is Coming.’ We’ve noticed that the song has been temporarily unavailable on Spotify, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.”

“Please rest assured that we are working tirelessly to resolve the issue and ensure that the song returns as soon as possible. Your patience and continued support mean the world to us.”

“In the meantime, stay connected with us for updates, and we can’t wait for you to enjoy ‘Joy Is Coming’ again very soon!”

Despite the uncertainty surrounding its removal, neither Fido, his record label (Oosha), nor Spotify has provided an official reason for the takedown.

However, fans can still stream ‘Joy Is Coming‘ on other major platforms like Apple Music, where it previously reached No. 1 on the Nigeria Top 100 chart.

In related news, Oosha Records has announced a strategic partnership with international distribution company EMPIRE.

This collaboration is expected to elevate the reach of Fido and other Oosha artists, granting them a more expansive global audience.

While fans await further updates on ‘Joy Is Coming,’ this partnership marks a significant step in Fido’s career and the future of Oosha Records.
