Jose Mourinho: Fenerbahce release statement to address potential departure to Everton
Fenerbahçe has firmly denied recent rumors linking their manager, José Mourinho, to a potential move to Premier League club Everton. Speculation about the Portuguese manager joining the English side had been gaining momentum, prompting the Turkish club to clarify the situation.
In a statement published in the Sunday edition of “Hurriyet,” a prominent Turkish newspaper, Fenerbahçe emphasized Mourinho’s full commitment to the club and his focus on achieving success in both domestic and European competitions.
The club dismissed the rumors as baseless and reiterated their confidence in Mourinho’s leadership.
“There is no offer from Everton, and even if there was, Mourinho only has Fenerbahçe in mind. He is completely focused on his job,” the club stated.
Reports also suggest that Mourinho’s camp, including his agent Jorge Mendes, was unaware of these rumours, adding to the surprise surrounding the speculation. Mourinho, who took charge of Fenerbahçe in the summer of 2024, is determined to challenge Galatasaray’s dominance in the Turkish Super Lig.
