    Femi Anikulapo Kuti, the legendary Afrobeat singer, songwriter, performer, and instrumentalist, has responded to a post following his recent loss at the 64th Grammy Awards.

    The 59-year-old artist, who is also the son of Nigerian afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo Kuti, was nominated for two Grammy Awards in 2022.

    In the Best Global Music Performance category, his song “Pà Pá Pà” was nominated, but he lost to Pakistani artist Arooj Aftab.

    In the Best Global Music Album category, the ace singer’s double album with his son Made Kuti, named “Legacy,” was also nominated, but they lost to Beninese renowned singer Angélique Kidjo, who won with her “Mother Nature” album.

    Femi, who has been nominated for the Grammys no less than five times and hasn’t won any yet, reacted to a comic Grammy-related Twitter post.

    A fan posted a funny meme video that insinuated how tired Femi Kuti will be if he is nominated for another Grammy.

    The award-winning singer laughed at the joke, using that medium to congratulate Angelique Kidjo as well.

    Femi Kuti went on to explain that he was tired of being nominated but not winning awards, noting the fact that he had been nominated five times in succession.

    He wrote;

    “The joke made my day????. Tonight is my 5th show in a roll and I’m quite tired and the joke killed me. I’m still laughing every time I look at it.”
