Fans recently criticized him for throwing money at Eswatini-born DJ Uncle Waffles whose real name is Lungelihle Zwane on stage during one of her performances in the comments section of an Instagram photo that went viral on Sunday, May 28.
In recent years, Uncle Waffles’ career has taken off. Not only has she been at numerous shows in South Africa, but she has also performed on occasion abroad. She posted about her enthusiasm on social media earlier this year when she revealed that she had been scheduled to perform at Coachella in Palm Springs, California, in the United States.
Since then, she has been spotted mingling with prominent worldwide figures including supermodel Naomi Campbell and R&B artist Ciara. Other prominent Hollywood figures, like former members of Destiny’s Child Beyoncé Knowles Carter and Kelly Rowland, have also noticed her and have expressed their admiration for her songs and performances.
Additionally, according to speculations, the creator of the hit song “Yahyuppiyah” recently worked with Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) to create a unique burger known as the “Uncle Waffles Burger.” It was said that the collaboration was currently ongoing.
In the current video making the rounds on Instagram, the DJ was performing when an unidentified man who appeared to be a fan stood on stage and showered her with cash. Other admirers commented online after watching the video that it all seemed quite awkward. They berated the man, saying he ought to have used his money to improve himself and that Waffles didn’t require it because she had the capacity to generate her own income.
