In 2020, Fall‘ was certified gold in the US and Canada. The connotation of that is that as of May 27 2020, ‘Fall’ has sold the equivalent of 40,000 and 800,000 copies in Canada and the US respectively.
Davido made this known on his Twitter account when he posted screenshots of his chat with his team including Vanessa Amadi and Asa Asika. He wrote, “I PREDICTED THIS COUPLE DAYS AGO ! !! FALL IS NOW CERTIFIED GOLD IN THE ‘USA !!!!! THEY LAUGHED AT ME BUT I DID IT FIRST !!

In his incredible four-song run in 2017, Davido’s second single, “Fall,” was published. The song was also made public after Davido returned to Nigeria from his first contract with a foreign record label.
Unexpectedly, the song began ascending on the Billboard Digital Songs Chart and R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts in 2019. It reached its peak in the top 40 of the later list and the top 20 of the former chart. This happened only a few months after the song was named the most-shazamed non-American music.
‘Fall‘ is also the Nigerian single with the longest run on the aforementioned charts. In addition, “Fall” has received a platinum certification in South Africa.
As of March 27, 2020, ‘Fall’ was also the most-watched Nigerian music video on YouTube.
