Jack Grealish’s redemption starts here! Everton announce loan signing of £100m Man City star

Everton have landed Manchester City midfielder Jack Grealish on a season-long loan, giving the England international a fresh start after slipping down Pep Guardiola’s pecking order.
The deal, confirmed on Tuesday, includes an option to buy for around £50 million ($67m).
The 29-year-old will don Everton’s famous No. 18 shirt, a number once worn by club icons Wayne Rooney and Paul Gascoigne, as he aims to reignite his career with regular playing time under David Moyes.

According to the Daily Mail, Grealish, who was earning close to £300,000 per week at the Etihad, agreed to a significant wage cut to facilitate the move. The playmaker is reportedly determined to return to top form ahead of the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Speaking to Everton’s media team after signing, Grealish expressed his excitement:
“I’m over the moon to have signed for Everton – it’s massive for me, honestly. This is a great club, with great fans. As soon as I spoke to the manager, I knew there was only one place I wanted to go.
On social media, I’ve been flooded with messages from Everton supporters… that’s another reason why I chose Everton. I hope I can repay the love and support, and I’m sure I will.”
The Toffees kick off their 2025–26 Premier League campaign against newly promoted Leeds United on August 18 at Elland Road, where Grealish could make his debut.
