The Ghanaian artist Epixode has revealed he hopes to retain and win the reggae dancehall artiste of the year title at the upcoming Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
The current reggae dancehall artiste of the year and creative director Theophilus Nii Arday Otoo, also known as Epixode, has stated that he hopes to win the reggae dancehall artiste of the year title at the upcoming Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
This was revealed in an interview with Foster Romanus, TV Ghana’s Late Nite Celebrity Show.
He highlighted his win of the award in 2021 as significant and feels it is only the beginning of many greater accomplishments in his music career.

During the interview with Foster Romanus he said:
“I have also understood that being in this position comes with a task,”. “I had ached to be in this situation for so many years and when it finally dropped, I thought, I had finally gotten what I had always wanted.”
He went on to say that receiving the title has put him in a position where he has “show why I deserve to be reggae dancehall artiste of the year.”
He also explained that it is for this reason that he immediately released his song, ‘Odeshi,’ after receiving the award and continues to release singles.
Epixode stated he dropped the single “Odeshi” to show Ghanaians and others that he is worthy of the honour.
Based on this concept, the reigning reggae-dancehall musician of the year is confident of retaining the award in the same category the following year.
